The Police Department is enlisting the support of the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) to help with crowd control during the Fourth of July events. Martinez Police Department will be implementing an operational plan to provide public safety at the Parade and the Fireworks Show, while also working to address the illegal use of fireworks. The Parade and the Fireworks show requires oversight and support from the Martinez Police Department and the Martinez Recreation Division. “We are looking forward to seeing our community enjoy the Fourth of July Celebrations taking place throughout the City.” “Now that we are transitioning back to in-person events within our community, we are excited to offer fun and festive opportunities to bring our residents and City staff together,” stated Martinez Mayor Rob Schroder. Pryo Spectaculars North, Inc has carried out numerous fireworks shows for the City of Martinez in years past. The City has contracted with Pyro Spectaculars North, Inc to orchestrate the show. The duration of the show will be about 45 minutes. To attend the Fireworks Show, the City encourages the public to walk to the event, park in and around the Downtown area, or use ride sharing options. We encourage residents who live in, or frequent the area, to plan ahead. until after the fireworks show concludes around 10 p.m. All vehicle access into and out of the Marina will be stopped at 6 p.m. Only residents with a permit will be allowed into the Marina area. and will include access at Berrellessa Street, Ferry Street and Marina Vista Avenue. Vehicle access to the Marina will be closed off between 6-7 a.m. The Fireworks Show will be held at the Martinez Marina, and will begin at approximately 9 p.m. Interested people can go to their website to learn more: 4th of July Parade () Signs will be posted up to 72 hours in advance.ĭowntown Martinez and Company is asking for the help of community volunteers. To support the parade, volunteers from Downtown Martinez and Company will close off access to Main Street on Court Street, Las Juntas Street, Ferry Street, Estudillo Street, Castro Street and Alhambra Avenue at 8 a.m. Before the parade, there will be Flag Raising Ceremony at 9:00 AM at the Veteran's Memorial Building, which community members are invited to attend. Staging will occur on Court Street and Main Street adjacent to the Contra Costa Superior Court building and County offices. The parade starts at 10:00 AM and will travel down Main Street from Court Street to Alhambra Avenue where the parade will turn right before it ends at Escobar Street.
